Customizing my template

As you can see I've been trying to customize my template. I've been experimenting with a few different html codes. Green is my favorite color so I was happy to find this background. I would like to add a border and also edit the header, but I have not been very successful thus far. I've messed up the whole template a few times and had to revert back to the original. But hopefully I will be able to figure it all out eventually.

If anyone has any hints that would be great! Thank you Lydia for all your help! You are right, Hyper-links are easy. :)

All Sufficient Grace

The grace of the LORD like a fathomless sea,

Sufficient for you, sufficient for me,

It's tender and gracious and boundless and free,

Sufficient for every need.

Kept For the master's Use

About the Author

Frances Ridley Havergal (1836-1879) was an English poet and hymn writer. She began writing verses at the young age of seven. She wrote many hymns including the well know one: "Take My Life and Let It Be." Other hymns written by her include: "Like A River Glorious,""I Gave My Life for Thee,"and "Who Is on the Lord's Side?" as well as others. She published several volumes of poems and hymns. Her book "Kept For the Master's Use is based on her hymn Take My Life and Let It Be, Consecrated, Lord to Thee.

About the book:

In her book Kept For the Masters Use, Miss Havergal encourages the reader to take every aspect of life and consecrate it for the Lord's use. Thought provoking, wonderful book, it really made me examine my heart and want afresh to dedicate my life, and all, for Jesus Christ. He has given His all for me by His death on the cross of Calvary. Praise His name for His grace and mercy! I Highly recommend this book.

It can be purchased for $6.25 through this company.

God's glorious salvation

"My sin -oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!-
My sin-not in part, but the whole-
Is nailed to His cross and I bear it no more.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!"

~ H.G. Spafford

"In whom we have redemption through His blood,

the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."

Leaves

There are an amazing variety of leaves, not only are there a lot of different shapes, (The pictures below are only a small percent of the different kinds just around our yard.) there is also different shades of green. How dull it would be if there was only one shade of green outdoors. All of God's creation is amazing! Even the "common" leaves.

Wild grape leaves

Leaves of our lemon tree.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass....Genesis 1:11a

Palm leaves
Poison Sumac leaves, quite pretty really, just don't touch! :)

Unfathomable His wondrous love,
Unchangeable His ways,
Unsearchable His blessed truths.
Unutterable His praise.
"O the depth of the riches both of the
wisdom and knowledge of God!
how unsearchable are His judgments,
and His ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
or who hath been His counsellor?
Or who hath first given to Him ,
and it shall be recompensed unto Him again?
For of Him, and through Him, and to Him,
are all things:
to whom be glory for ever. Amen."
Romans 11:33-36

July 2007

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner!
Oh long may it wave O'er the land of the
free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall
wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
~Francis Scott Key

"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
